Leading up to my birth I had no idea what to expect. Everybody shares their experiences with you but you never know how your labor is going to go. Mary guided me every step of my pregnancy, she answered any question I had. She reassured me when I needed it, and checked in on me constantly. I had confidence in Mary going into the pregnancy but seeing her in action at my birth blew me away. She was attentive without being overbearing. She helped me through the stages of labor without being pushy. To put it simply, Mary is a natural. I’ve known her since I was 11 so I’m probably biased, but anyone would agree that Mary’s presence is calming and grounding. I felt secure knowing that she was helping bring my child into the world, and I was at peace throughout the labor. On September 17th at 4:38 am my son was born in the comfort of my home surrounded by loved ones. I’m thankful to Mary for the role she played in such a relaxed and enjoyable pregnancy and birth, I look forward to having her by my side for all my future births!

Quiet, Peaceful, and Clean Birth

This was my 5th birth and I felt very much at peace and in control of the situation with the help of Mary Claire. Her quiet, graceful and reassuring nature was such an encouragement to me as labor progressed. She made the whole experience very special because we didn't have to worry about a thing, I wasn't overwhelmed or distracted at all. Prenatals were casual, relaxing, and affirming.

Mary was great!

Even though I had given birth 3 times prior, this one was different and I had lots of questions towards the end and she was very helpful and reassuring. At my birth she just let us do whatever we were comfortable with. My husband was able to catch our son and Mary helped him through it. It was pretty amazing! Mary, along with her assistant and my doulas from Empowered Holistic Birth helped get me cleaned up and checked baby out and cleaned up for us! It was so very helpful and I’d recommend New Mercies Midwifery to anyone! Thank you Mary!

A beautiful tub birth!

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience working with Mary Tidwell. I thoroughly enjoyed my prenatal appointments at her office and appreciated that I always had every opportunity to ask as many questions as I wanted. Not once did I feel rushed. Her answers helped me know that she was an expert in her field and that I was in good hands. She supported me in making thoughtful decisions about my pregnancy. This was my first home birth experience, and it was a privilege to have my baby in such a peaceful setting. During my labor, I felt totally safe and supported by both my midwife and her knowledgeable assistant. I was encouraged to listen to my body and was able to utilize positions and tools that worked for me. Mary’s postpartum home visits were thorough and provided me with the physical and emotional support I needed. I will always remember my birth experience as a positive and empowering one thanks to her guidance.
